Being a southern girl, most of my beach time has been spent on the southeast coast. The wide expanse of sky and sand and the warm water makes our beaches a favorite for so many.
So when we took our first trip to the west coast, I was completely mesmerized by the beautiful Pacific coast. From Astoria, Oregon to San Francisco, there was a new surprise around every turn. Crashing waves met misty mountains as they slipped into the sea. Bashful seals and raucous sea lions basked on the ocean’s numerous rocks. Flowers graced the beachside and tide pools were teeming with colorful creatures.
“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.” Psalm 96:11.
To observe the beauty and diversity of God’s creation is a true blessing. But to be able to know the One who created it all far surpasses that.
