The Mighty Mac, or Mackinac Bridge, is the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world. It spans the Straits of Mackinac, which link Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. At approximately five miles long, it is the only link between Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula . We got to cross this amazing engineering feat on our Great Lakes Road Trip this past September. If we wanted to get to the Upper Peninsula from the Lower, there was one way, and only one way to do it – the beloved Mighty Mac.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6.
Just like this suspension bridge, there is one way to Heaven, which is available to everyone- God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, God’s Son, came to earth to live and die and to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He came to be that bridge that connects us with God. We must come to the place where we know we can’t make our own way to Heaven, but there is already a perfect way there: Jesus Christ.
