How many times have I questioned God? Why did He allow this? Why couldn’t He have stopped that? Could He have stepped in to save the day? I’m ashamed to admit it, but there are times I’ve dared to think I knew better, or at least think I would have done things differently. I don’t think I’m the only one who has ever thought this way or asked these questions. And God has an answer.
“Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of Him who has perfect knowledge?” Job 37:16.
His wisdom can put us in our place quickly. His Word can bring us back down to earth. Scripture reminds us that it is He Who hung the clouds, that He works wonders, and that He has perfect knowledge.
How can I argue with the One Who hung the clouds? How could I not ultimately trust the only wise One? When I am tempted to wonder if You know what You are doing, Lord, remind me, through Your Word, of who You are and give me a right estimation of myself and my limitations.
