Sunshine- who doesn’t want it every day of their lives? But too much sun is never a good thing.
Filtered sunlight is what produces these incredible Redwood forests in Northern California. They are so wonderful to hike through because the controlled sunlight causes very little undergrowth. You can see these colossal trunks forever as you look through the forest. There are massive ferns which grow as happy companions to the redwoods, and it is a sight to behold! The perfect balance between sun and shade results in this ideal environment.
“It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.” Isaiah 4:6.
Sunshine is a wonderful and glorious thing; yet too much is not beneficial and can be harmful.
Just as these redwood trees filter the sunlight to protect the forest floor, Christ filters our lives to protect us from what would harm us. He protects us from the enemy, sin, destruction, and temptation. Sometimes He protects us from things we may even think are good, and we find ourselves rebelling against His work and His ways. Christ is our Protector, and it is in our best interest to trust Him.
