When you go on an adventure, you hope and pray for perfect weather, and by that, I mean clear skies and sunshine. Weather is just something we can’t control, and although we’d like it to never rain when we travel, I have learned that many times, the clouds hold showers of blessing!
Take, for instance, our trip in 2016 to Grand Teton National Park. I could not wait to get there, and since we only had a couple of days, I was hoping and praying for gorgeous weather. Imagine my disappointment when, the closer we got to the Tetons, the cloudier and rainier it became. After we checked into our hotel, we decided to drive over to the national park anyway. The most beautiful sights greeted us there on this gloomy afternoon. Gigantic granite peaks were shrouded in a gentle mist, and the evergreen trees stood majestically against the fog. The fall colors were just beginning to show, and the light from the ever changing stormy sky was glorious to behold. The Grand Tetons could not have been more gorgeous.
“I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” Ezekiel 34:26.
The Lord always sends showers in season; not one of them is miscued. And as we trust His wisdom and timing, we will indeed realize that the dreaded storms of our lives will instead be showers of blessing.
