There’s a place where life springs up unexpectedly. Where it’s unlikely and even sometimes impossible. Take this tree in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for example. It grows and thrives, not in a lush forest or a fertile field, but in a lifeless, barren rock.
There are times when life really does seem to spring up from an unlikely situation. Sometimes relationships that were dead come to life. Other times people who are on their death bed revive and leave the hospital to live for many years to come.
And then there’s the utterly impossible. When Life Himself walks out of the tomb – after three days! That’s what Easter is all about.
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” Matthew 28:6.
Jesus Christ defied death by walking out of the tomb, and He is still bringing life to situations and to people that may seem beyond hope. That marriage that seems like is over. That wayward child whom you love and worry over desperately. That lifelong friendship that ended in betrayal. That financial burden that keeps you up at night. That addiction, that habit, that sin.
Jesus came to defeat the ultimate enemy, death, and in doing so, brought hope to every conceivable circumstance we endure and every person we love- and even those we don’t love.
Trust Christ with your life and future. This same Jesus who defeated death can bring new life to you and whatever you face.
