This is beautiful Riverside Drive, a route that meanders pleasantly along the James River near Gladstone, Virginia. It’s full of river views, wildflowers, forest clad hills, and gorgeous pastureland.

Pasture – the very word brings to mind peace, a sense of being cared for and nourished.

“Say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.” Isaiah 49:9.

Who are the prisoners in this verse? They are those who are held captive by sin, those who do not know Christ yet. It is when we realize that we are sinners and in desperate need of a Savior, repent of our sins, and come to Christ that we are really and truly free forever.

This freedom in Christ brings us abundance in every area of our lives. Where there was once barrenness and emptiness, there is now fulfillment and joy. Where there was hunger, there is now satisfaction.

Just as the cattle in this pastureland have everything they could need and want, those in Christ are infinitely supplied and supported by the Lord.

Would you like to exchange your prison chains for the freedom of the pastureland today? Ask God to forgive you of your sins and receive His Son, Jesus Christ, as your Savior today. You will never regret it.
