This was the way I spent my morning. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a more beautiful start to the day. The chill of the morning air, the peaceful quiet, the light of a new day beginning, and the darkness of night disappearing.
Grand Teton National Park is one of my favorite places in the world, and I feel so blessed to be here right now – here as spring takes over winter, and light takes over darkness.
“I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12.
As glorious as this sunrise is, it does not compare to the Light of the world, Jesus. His Word tells me that as I follow Him, I will never walk in darkness. What a rich promise, and one I desperately need to hear.
I don’t know about you, but walking in the dark frightens me. There are too many dangers to navigate safely. But light brings knowledge and direction. As I follow Jesus, He brings me safely through each and every moment of my life. I must not walk ahead of Him nor strike out on my own, but follow Him closely.
As the sunlight filled this valley this morning, it brought life and it chased away all darkness. Even more so, as I allow Christ to fill my life with the Light of His Presence, He brings life and direction. I have no fear of dangers or pitfalls, for He has illuminated my path.
