This beautiful sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina is one of many we have witnessed over the years. We have seen hundreds, maybe thousands, yet no two have ever been the same. Each has been uniquely amazing. The cloud formations in this sunrise were extraordinary and the color was so bright.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1.
Through these words, we can see that David is not merely observing a beautiful sight. Yes, it is beautiful, but it’s much more than that. He is moved by what He sees to praise God. That is what I want to do when I am in God’s creation.
I love the beauty of God’s creation, and I can’t wait to see more of nature, but I don’t want it to stop there. I want to learn more of this God, who by the very power of His voice brought all creation into being, and I want to proclaim His glory.
It’s one thing to enjoy and appreciate all the beauty God has created; it’s an entirely other thing to know and have a personal relationship with the One who designed and made it all. He has been and is with me in all situations and circumstances. He has provided protection and resources at the very time I’ve needed them. He has healed me from hurts and sickness. He has forgiven my sin and lovingly restored me. The Creator of this world is worth knowing!
