There’s nothing like sunrise! The dawn of a new day, a new start, a new chance! Had a bad day yesterday? Messed up royally? You can forget it and let it go, because there’s a new opportunity today.
God’s creation is filled with examples of fresh starts and new possibilities, just like this lovely sunrise over Lake Huron, in Mackinaw City, Michigan.
There’s just one thing. I don’t want to live this day without God. I need His wisdom, strength, and direction to lead me today. I need His correction when I get off track, and I need His conviction to help me keep a repentant heart. And thankfully, He doesn’t want me to live this day without Him, either.
“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139:9-10.
We can’t escape God’s presence. Can we ignore Him? Yes. Can we tune Him out? Of course. But why would we want to? His presence is always around us.
In these verses, David is extolling God’s presence with Him. How reassuring and comforting to know that He is with us. Even when we sin, He is there to bring us back to Him.
No matter where we go, we can still find His guiding hand to lead, strengthen, and uphold us. The thought of God’s hand upon my life is more wonderful than anything I can think of!
